Camel Riding in Abu Dhabi: A Living Bedouin Tradition

Long before 4x4 vehicles and quad bikes, camels were the only way Bedouin communities crossed the dunes now used for our camel ride Abu Dhabi experiences. The camel remains one of the most recognisable symbols of Emirati heritage, and every Off Road Tourism safari includes a short guided ride as a nod to that history.

What To Expect During Your Camel Ride

Our camel handlers lead a short, guided loop suitable for guests of all ages, usually timed around golden hour for the best photos. The camels used are calm, well cared for, and led rather than ridden freely, which makes the experience approachable even for nervous first-timers.

Is It Included Or Extra?

Camel riding comes included in every one of our desert safari packages โ€” you don't need to book it separately. See our Camel Ride Abu Dhabi page for more detail, or head straight to our packages page to pick a full safari.

Pairing Tradition With Adventure

Most guests enjoy camel riding as a calmer bookend to more adrenaline-heavy activities like quad biking or dune buggy rides โ€” a nice contrast between old and new ways of crossing the same dunes.
